IRISH COUNTRY LIVING CHALLENGE

Irish Country Living Breast Cancer Research Challenge

Irish Country Living, the weekly supplement with the Irish Farmers Journal, will drive a fundraising campaign from January 17th for the following 10 weeks for breast cancer research in association with the National Breast Cancer Research Institute (NBCRI), NUI Galway and Unislim.  Throughout this campaign, five brave volunteers will aim to slim down to a personal target weight as they each try to raise €1,000 for breast cancer research.  Each week Irish Country Living will follow the progress of the volunteers, provide information on breast cancer, share personal stories of men and women who have beaten breast cancer and offer helpful fitness tips to help each volunteer reach their target weight.

The five volunteers are Labour TD Willie Penrose from Ballinacarrigy, Co Westmeath, Monica Baker of Kinnegad, Co Westmeath, Amy Cullen of Gorey Co.Wexford, Sharon Dowling of Courtown Co.Wexford and Lorraine O’Sullivan, also of Gorey in Co.Wexford.
If readers wish to join in and raise money for breast cancer research, please post your name and address to Irish Country Living Breast Cancer Research Challenge and a branded sponsorship card will be sent out to you.

To reward our volunteers at the end of their tough 10 week challenge, Monart Destination Spa has kindly offered a pampering treatment plus an overnight stay at their luxury hotel in Wexford for each volunteer and their partner and Irish Country Living will also organize a makeover for each volunteer.
