IRISH FASHION DESIGN WEEKEND 09' - KINSALE

SUPERMODEL Erin O’Connor followed in the footsteps of fellow supermodel Yasmin Le Bon when she made a special guest modelling appearance at the Blue Haven Collection, Kinsale, Co. Cork this January 30th and 31st at the Irish Examiner Irish Design Fashion Weekend.
The supermodel, known to Irish audiences for her appearances on the Marks & Spencers adverts, appeared for two nights to raise funds for the National Breast Cancer Research Institute (NBCRI) at one of Ireland’s celebrity hotspots – The Blue Haven Collection in Kinsale.
 Ciaran Fitzgerald, Head of the Blue Haven Collection, said: “We were delighted to host this event once again in aid the NBCRI. Due to the phenomenal demand for tickets and interest in the show last year we decided to run it for two nights this year and make an entire weekend out of the event. With six of Ireland’s top designers showing their newest collections this promises to be even bigger and better than before.” “Following the success of last year’s Irish Design Fashion Night, the Irish Examiner is delighted to come on board as title sponsor again in 2009. This year’s fashion extravaganza over two nights means that we can raise even more money for the National Breast Cancer Research Institute. It also highlights the reputation and calibre of the event when top names in fashion such as Erin O’Connor can be attracted to take part. We are in no doubt that this year’s event will be even bigger and better than last year,” said Mairead Maher, Head of Marketing at The Irish Examiner.
Six of Ireland’s top designers will feature their designs. These include; Peter O’Brien, Louise Kennedy, Lainey Keogh, Richard Lewis, Helen McAlinden and Deborah Veale.
Top fashion show producer and stylist Catherine Condell was on hand to co-ordinate all back stage while MC Pamela Flood ensured everything ran smoothly front of house.
