GRAND CANYON WALKING CHALLENGE 2009

THE CHALLENGE - Raise a minimum of €4,800 for the National Breast Cancer Research Institute and walk a total of 70km during our eleven day trip.  Our walks took in four National Parks, Zion, Bryce, Monumental Valley and Grand Canyon as we traveled through the South Western United States. Walkers finished off the trip with two days of leisure in Las Vegas!

DAY 1 -Arrival In Las Vegas
All our walkers arrived safe and sound in Las Vegas after a very long day travelling. The first group travelled through New York while the second went via Philadelphia. After a quick head count it was off to the Flamingo Hotel and a short night on the town in Vegas as tomorrow we take the five hour bus trip to Zion National Park.

DAY 2 - Zion National Park
Up bright and early we all got on the bus for the long journey to Zion National Park and checked into our hotel The Majestic View Lodge .

DAY 3 - Zion National Park
Pictures cannot capture the beauty of the canyons of Zion, it has to be experienced. Sculpted from raw rock by the Virgin River. Zion is revered as a spiritual place but it’s truly heaven on earth for those looking for outdoor adventure. Our walk in Zion took us to Sinawava, The Weeping Rock and The Grotto.
